The grind size guide
From espresso-fine to French-press-coarse - match your grind to your brewer.

TL;DR
- Finer grind = faster extraction, coarser = slower.
- Espresso is fine; cafetière is coarse; filter sits between.
- A burr grinder beats blades every time.
Grind size is how you control extraction. The finer you grind, the more surface area the water hits - so it extracts faster.
Match grind to method
- Espresso - fine, like table salt
- Filter / pour-over - medium
- Cafetière - coarse, like sea salt
